VGA interface has the following characteristics:

  1. Theoretically, it can support 2048x1536 resolution screen transmission.

  2. VGA is an analog signal transmission. The transmission process is susceptible to signal interference, and signal conversion is prone to signal loss.

  3. At 1080P resolution, users can clearly feel the loss of the picture with the naked eye.

   4. It is recommended to use monitors below 1080P resolution. VGA is currently a widely used display interface. Almost most of the low-end displays have a VGA interface. However, due to its obvious shortcomings, the high resolution cannot reach the required refresh rate and there is only image input without sound input, so It is difficult to occupy a place in the mid-to-high-end display market.

Two. DVI interface: DVI (Digital Visual Interface) interface and VGA are both commonly used interfaces in computers. Unlike VGA, DVI can transmit digital signals without performing digital-to-analog conversion, so the picture quality is very high. At present, many high-definition TVs also provide DVI interfaces. It should be noted that there are many specifications for the DVI interface, the common ones are DVI-D (Digital) and DVI-I (Intergrated). DVI-D can only transmit digital signals, you can use it to connect graphics cards and flat-screen TVs. DVI-I can convert between DVI-D and VGA.

DVI interface has the following characteristics:

   1. Only images can be transmitted, and the supported resolution is limited.

  2. Only 8bit RGB signal transmission is supported, and some monitors with wider color gamut are not supported.

  3. The interface is relatively large and the efficiency is low, so it cannot be applied to devices such as ultra-thin notebooks.

  4. The device compatibility is relatively general, especially flat-panel TVs.

5. DVI transmits digital signals. The digital image information will be directly transmitted to the display device without any conversion. Therefore, the cumbersome conversion process of digital→analog→digital is reduced, which greatly saves time and therefore its speed Faster, effectively eliminate the smear phenomenon, and use DVI for data transmission, the signal is not attenuated, the color is purer and more lifelike, and the current application is relatively wide.
